Membership Benefits

BCS Membership

BCS is a professional body and membership society for those working in cardiovascular medicine in the UK.

BCS Membership

The BCS is the professional society for every cardiovascular health professional, supporting your education and training needs and giving you access to a wide range of benefits, resources and support. You will be joining an established community of around 3,000 cardiovascular professionals – mostly in the UK, but also in 43 other countries, all working with the same aim of improving patient care.

Different membership categories offer a variety of benefits, including free or heavily discounted BCS conference places, reduced course fees, and free online educational materials. Just click on the boxes below to find out which membership category is tailored to you.

Other non-application membership categories

Emeritus membership

The BCS offers a free 'emeritus' membership category for retired Ordinary members, and this is automatically offered upon retirement.

Honorary membership

From time to time the BCS awards honorary membership to recognise a significant contribution to the field of cardiology. It indicates to colleagues and patients that the member is part of a group of professionals whose high standing in the field has been recognised by their peers.

Student membership

The BCS does not offer student membership, but students are encouraged to become members of the British Undergraduate Cardiologists Association (BUCA)

‘I don’t see an appropriate membership category for me, what do I do?’

If you would like advice about which category to choose, please email membership@bcs.com for advice.

Detailed information on membership categories is available here.

After a few years in which membership subscriptions were frozen, from now on membership subscriptions will rise each year in line with CPI. This will enable us to maintain and improve the services we offer to members.
