Shahdat Hussain graduated with MBBS (Honours in Physiology and Pharmacology) in 2011 and moved to the UK in 2014. During his core medical training at South Yorkshire (Sheffield and Barnsley) between 2015 - 2017, he was an RCP associate tutor and BMA junior doctor representative. He helped in the transition of the new junior doctor contract in 2016 by ensuring key elements of junior doctor welfare (rota compliance, resting facilities, mess, Guardian for safe working) were delivered.

He is currently ST7 based at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital completing his advanced modules in cardiac cross-sectional imaging (cardiac CT and Cardiac MR). Upon completion of CCT, he will do a Cardiac cross-sectional imaging fellowship at Wythenshawe Hospital. He is passionate about multi-modality imaging, teaching and research.
