Amit Kaura

Amit Kaura is a Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology at Imperial College London and a Specialist Registrar in Cardiology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London in 2022 for his research on big data analytics in cardiovascular sciences. He is one of the lead researchers for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Informatics Collaborative (HIC) Cardiovascular theme, which involves 12 NHS Trusts working together to facilitate the equitable re-use of NHS data for translational research in cardiology. Dr Kaura has a particular research interest in using retrospective electronic health record patient data to emulate clinical trials. He is also developing the infrastructure to use electronic health record data to support the delivery of clinical trials at low cost. Dr Kaura has been awarded research funding from the British Heart Foundation and the NIHR and has been honoured with numerous prizes throughout his career.
