At this event we will explore why progress has stalled in the past, and what can be done to accelerate progress within the new systems structure, such as integrated care systems and place-based partnerships. Why now? Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the leading causes of morbidity, disability and mortality in England, and a significant driver of health inequalities. It disproportionately affects those in the most deprived communities and accounts for one-quarter of the gap in life expectancy between rich and poor.
