We all know that providing heart failure care for the large number of patients with HF is complex, requiring close interaction and co-ordination between multiple healthcare organisations: it is all too easy for the patient to fall between the gaps. We’re delighted to have the president of the American College of Cardiology, Cathie Biga address the issues from a US perspective. Prof Theresa McDonagh will discuss how guidelines are assembled (perhaps, like the making of sausages, something we don’t want to watch too closely), and speakers from Wales and Scotland will discuss new initiatives in their countries for delivering HF care.
