The British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) is looking to recruit a Chair for our Digital, Communications and Marketing Committee.

Volunteer: Chair of the Digital, Communications and Marketing Committee

Term of office: 3 years

Reporting to the Honorary Secretary, the post-holder will be responsible for providing leadership to the Digital, Marketing and Communications Committee whose core role is to deliver and develop the digital, communications and marketing profile of the society in support of its strategic aims via its various divisions (Education and Research, Clinical Standards, Training and Membership). There is also an exciting opportunity to develop these in support of a new international strategy of the BCS.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the activities of the BCS leading on the development of digital communication and marketing strategies fit for the future.


The position will be for a 3 year term, renewable by a further term by mutual agreement. Any reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with the BCS Expense Policy. The post-holder will have to commit the time needed to deliver on the responsibilities as set out in the role description and will Chair three meetings of the Digital, Communications and Marketing Committee per year. Meetings will be delivered virtually or at  the BCS offices based at 9 Fitzroy Square, London depending on circumstances. In addition the Chair may be required to attend occasional meetings of the Digital Oversight Group to report on key activities and issues and may be required to attend occasional Executive or Board meetings, with advanced warning.

You will need to incorporate the demands of the role into your work and on-call schedules.
