European Exam in General Cardiology

European Exam in Core Cardiology

European Exam in Core Cardiology

About the EECC

The European Exam in Core Cardiology (EECC) is administered by the European Society of Cardiology, in conjunction with the UEMS Cardiology Section and the national cardiac societies. Since 2018, the exam sat by UK trainees contains 6 UK-specific questions relating to UK guidance and legislation.

Passing the EECC is a curriculum requirement for CCT in the UK. It is sat in ST5 but trainees who do not achieve the required standard will be able to progress to ST6 and ST7 without affecting decisions about allocation to advanced modules, providing the other elements of their performance are judged satisfactory at the ARCP. They can then resit the exam in ST6 and ST7.

From 2020, the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) is providing access to preparatory modules for the exam via the ESC e-learning platform to everyone registered for the EECC. To do this, we need to supply your contact details to the ESC. You will be asked for consent to your data being shared as part of the registration process. Access to preparatory modules will be made available after registration is closed. Access to preparatory modules will be made available after registration is closed.

Please note that from June EEGC 2021 the European Exam in General Cardiology (EEGC) has been rebranded to European Exam in Core Cardiology (EECC).

EECC 2021 results are expected to be released week commencing Monday 12 July.
