1. UK Maternal Cardiology Society simulated scenario training workshop - (Monday 6 June) - 1400 - 1600

During this 2 hour scenario based teaching, delegates will go through training in the management of common maternal cardiology emergencies. This course is suitable for Cardiology trainees, middle grades and consultants, as well as obstetricians, midwives and anaesthetists who in their work are dealing with pregnant women with cardiology complaints.

2. Introduction to Nuclear Cardiology - Level 1 - (Tuesday 7 June) - 0845 - 1700

It is recognised that it can be challenging for trainees to achieve appropriate experience in Nuclear Cardiology. The course has been designed to meet basic UK core curriculum requirements for speciality training in Cardiology, and aims to cover the Nuclear Techniques section of ESC Core Curriculum for the General Cardiologist. Interactive case-based interpretation (>50 cases) will facilitate learning and highlight current expanding clinical indications for Nuclear Cardiology techniques, e.g. amyloidosis, endocarditis, device-related infection and sarcoidosis.

A hands on approach to routine cath lab emergencies aimed at doctors and allied health care professionals alike. Focus will be on team training, human factors and communications, and situational awareness, using high fidelity physiological simulator software. This course was referenced in the upcoming guidelines that will be published in Heart in the new year.

2022 marks the tenth year that the BCS is running these highly interactive, moderated sessions that cover the range of the general cardiology curriculum and consist of 30 multiple choice questions on clinical grey cases. There are two life-long learning sessions at this year's conference. The same set of questions will be used for both sessions. As places are limited, to avoid no-shows, a £10 registration fee (non-refundable) will be charged per session. You must register for the conference to book a slot. Attendance of this slot (in addition to booking) will ensure you receive a certificate of participation.

8. The 'Cath lab ready' cardiology Simulator Training Course for Cardiology Trainees - (Wednesday 8 June) - 0830 - 1300

This course is intended for new Cardiology trainees (ST3-5) as an introduction to invasive cardiology procedures to help the trainee to feel ‘Cath lab ready’. The objective of the course is to provide an introduction to invasive cardiology procedures and to Cath lab team work and you will have the opportunity to put your skills into practice in a simulated cath lab environment.
