About the posts
The Society seeks nominations for 11 elected positions on the British Cardiovascular Society Executive, Council and Committees.
The requirements for the positions are outlined in the role descriptions below.
Positions on Council are open to all ordinary members of the Society. Positions on BCS Committees are open to joint and affiliate and ordinary members of the Society. For executive positions (officer posts) application is limited to those members who have served as a member of Council, a member of a committee of the Society, or as an Officer of one of the Affiliated Societies.
All nominees must complete and submit the following by
17:00 hours on Wednesday 31 March 2021
1. An online nomination form with:
A supporting statement for your election profile which must be no more than 500 words (please submit this with word count included at the end of your statement). The statement should include brief career details and your aspirations for the Society in relation to the role you are applying for.
The names and email addresses of 2 ordinary members of the Society who propose and second the nominee.
2. The following completed forms
Once complete, these should be submitted to the BCS elections mailbox (firstname.lastname@example.org) as two/three attachments in one email which includes your name and the post applied for in the subject line of the email:
c. A completed CV - max 2 pages please (N.B. only applicable if applying for Vice President roles).
In accordance with an amendment to the BCS Rules in 2020, (Ref. 18.3.3) members are only permitted to apply for a single position within the Society. Nominations for multiple posts will not be accepted.
Regular attendance (>75%) at meetings is expected for all of these roles.
